Americans are travelling to London in greater numbers, year after year. British culture is enamoured by a large population of the US. Besides that, among other qualities, the British accent seems to make Americans’ love the Brits.

Perhaps you’re an American, who has the same fascination with the country, but you don’t know where to stay. Since the city so big, and a little chaotic, it can be challenging to decide where you should stay – you have so many options! That’s why we’ve created a short list of the best areas in the city.

This quaint little area not too far from Oxford Street is perhaps the most central location you can get, without being too close to the action. Oxford Circus, which is essentially New York’s equivalent of Times Square, is packed full of clothing and department stores – along with its signature everyday hustle and bustle.

Marylebone strikes a distinct balance between being commercial and somewhat relaxing. Visitors who opt to stay in this area will find the scenic Regents Park just a short walk away (close to Baker Street station), as well as popular tourist destinations such as Madame Tussauds and the Sherlock Holmes Museum – the Park Grand London Paddington Hotel is just around the corner.

This popular part of the city is unlike any other area in the capital; covered with street art, hipsters, and many tech companies such as Besides that, it’s one of the most diverse areas in the city, with a Bangladeshi community that’s known for providing some of the best restaurants in town.

This area is teeming with writers, and artists – among other creative types. It’s perhaps the most expensive area to stay in out of the three we’ve mentioned. It’s filled with opulent stores and is known to be one of the most affluent areas in the world. It includes High Street Kensington, South Kensington, and Earl’s Court.
